Pod of Gold: Jac Collinsworth on his return to NBC Sports, Notre Dame's 2020 season
Spring football is underway at Notre Dame. The Irish held their first spring practice Thursday before embarking on spring break. Notre Dame’s next practice won’t be until Tuesday, March 17, but the "Pod of Gold" has plenty of fodder to discuss between now and then.
To launch the podcast's spring football coverage, Tyler James and Eric Hansen invited Jac Collinsworth, a 2017 Notre Dame graduate and sports broadcaster, onto the podcast. Collinsworth recently rejoined NBC Sports and his assignments will include Notre Dame football coverage.
On the show, Collinsworth discussed his new gig with NBC Sports, which will include Irish football coverage, his path into sports broadcasting, the biggest story lines of the 2020 season, how the Irish stack up to Clemson, his expectations for Irish coordinators Tommy Rees and Clark Lea and more (1:24).
Then Tyler James and Eric Hansen made Kevin Austin Jr. predictions in the Place Your Bets segment (25:52) before answering questions from Twitter (31:15).
