Pod of Gold: Michael McCann on the legal hurdles ahead for name, image and likeness in NCAA
With the NCAA inching closer to a resolution on name, image and likeness rules, Tyler James and Eric Hansen wanted to spend some time this offseason looking at what’s causing the delay and what the eventual impact will be on college football.
In order to do so, they invited Michael McCann, legal analyst and senior sports legal reporter for Sportico, to join the "Pod of Gold" podcast on Friday.
McCann discussed what's delaying the creation of NIL rules at the NCAA level, the risk the NCAA has taken by not establishing them sooner, how soon they may be put into effect, how schools will handle them, if Notre Dame can benefit from them and more.
Then Tyler James and Eric Hansen answered questions from Twitter (20:10).
