[Comment From Dan in CTDan in CT: ]  Hey Tom... I have to admit that as much as I am rooting for a win, I picked yet another "one and done" disappointment for the Irish. What is it going to take to take this team to the next level - to be an Elite team with an honest chance of winning the whole thing?

[Comment From GuestGuest: ]  Tom how do you think ND matches up with Iowa State.

[Comment From JoeJoe: ]  Tom how do you think ND matches up with Iowa State. Do you think this is the year ND can get to the final four. The bracket that they are in does not seem that difficult.

12:07
[Comment From Fred HoibergFred Hoiberg: ]  Tom, just doing my due diligence on ND and heard you were the authority on all things ND hoops.

[Comment From George CostanzaGeorge Costanza: ]  Tom, will Brey run a version of the burn to slow down the pace? Sounds like ISU gets very little ball pressure, what do you think they will do to speed ND up on offense?

[Comment From MarkMark: ]  What are your thoughts on Cooley and the bigs having to guard the perimeter? I know some analysts have talked about that but I think it's as big of a deal that Iowa State will have a just as much of a problem guarding Cooley and even Sherman in the post.

[Comment From GuestGuest: ]  Tom, thanks for the chats this year they've been great and enlightening (and I hope there are at least two more Thursday chats).

[Comment From Dan in CTDan in CT: ]  I know I hold this team to what might be an unrealistic standard, because I spent my four years at ND working with Digger - had a bench pass for the 88-game streak ender. I always felt Digger's team were dominant and a true threat when the dominated the boards. They had some outside pop, but when they controlled the boards they were an elite team. As with all of Brey's teams, they live or die by the trey. Seems pretty clear that the more pressure you are under, the first thing that goes is your shooting touch. Does Brey simply not have success in recruiting "bigs" that can pound the ball inside with dominance, or is he so married to the trey that he can't/won't make adjustments?

[Comment From AnthonyAnthony: ]  Tom, do you think Brey's rotation will change at all now that we are in the tournament. Also, I hate that Friday late night start time....same slot as last year. How about Thursday at noon
  Thursday March 21, 2013 12:16 Anthony

12:19
[Comment From Mark EmmertMark Emmert: ]  Tom, seems like a game that we will see very little of Cam in. His defensive rotation is lacking and his rebounding isnt great, which seems especially important vs a team that takes a lot of 3s. He also has a very quick trigger and with the defense ISU plays, he may shoot every time he gets the ball

12:22
[Comment From haroldharold: ]  a little less dribbling by the guards seems would help the tempo of their offense..too often they(particularly grant) end of dribbling into trouble with no outlet and then make a bad pass or lose possession.
  Thursday March 21, 2013 12:22 harold

12:27
[Comment From Big RomeBig Rome: ]  Basic Question: Will the Irish be the "home team" for this game and thus be wearing the day-glow uniforms? I've read conflicting reports on this all-important question.

12:29
[Comment From MikeMike: ]  Which Cooley will we see Friday night? The Cooley from the Pitt game or the passive, disinterested Cooley?
  Thursday March 21, 2013 12:29 Mike

12:33
[Comment From TomTom: ]  Calling Cooley passive and disinterested is an insult. Admittedly he's been inconsistent lately. I was wondering if he's hurt???
  Thursday March 21, 2013 12:33 Tom

12:37
[Comment From Big RomeBig Rome: ]  I read some analysis that suggested that the biggest factor in the Cyclones' success or failure was whether or not they rebounded the ball well. Given that our bigs get up and down the floor pretty well, are we likely to see a bigger lineup than we have for the last few games?
  Thursday March 21, 2013 12:37 Big Rome

12:39
[Comment From TomTom: ]  Mike, the comment before me said he was passive and disinterested.
  Thursday March 21, 2013 12:39 Tom

12:48
[Comment From Big RomeBig Rome: ]  The conventional wisdom is that the best way to shut down a bunch of long-range bombers is to play tough man-to-man defense, but some sportswriters have suggested that the Cyclones have the speed and ability to drive (particularly in their backcourt) that makes man defense difficult. Will they start out in man and switch to zone if the circumstances dictate?

[Comment From mike from daytonmike from dayton: ]  Hi tom good article on ac.i was at that game i'd thought he played better in other games. but he didn't have 61.let's get to the second weekend.

[Comment From Jim--Jim--: ]  I'm jumping ahead to a potential ND/OSU match up on Sunday. IMO this is a real problem for ND. Craft and Lenzelle Smith are both outstanding defensively at guard. Craft gets away with many fouls especially with his lower body. If you take ND's guards away you minimize greatly their chances to win. Plus without Martin ND has a problem defending DeShawn Thomas. PC is too small and Knight.. well forget that idea. What are your thought? I know ND has to take care of ISU first.

12:59
[Comment From BBBB: ]  Tom how much of a factor will the crowd be in tomorrow night's game since not only is UD Arena located in Buckeye country but there is also no love loss between UD and ND fans from the Digger-Donoher era (can still remember the UD students' "Notre Who" tshirts from those games)?

[Comment From Jim--Jim--: ]  Tom-- Iona doesn't guard anyone, not anyone. OSU will probably score 100 on them. One small prediction with the guard match ups against OSU, ND may struggle to score 50 against OSU. Thus ND may run-- Burn

[Comment From ralph, glencoe, ILralph, glencoe, IL: ]  I realize there is a big game coming up tomorrow, but what were your thoughts about the Louisville game? I thought the Irish played well but just couldn't overcome a good team and the "let them play" sort of officiating style (that style fits better for Louisville than the Irish).

[Comment From SaraSara: ]  Do you think Pat Connaughton will be with ND basketball all 4 years or will baseball pull him away?
