Julian Okwara's night ended early with an ejection, but not before the Notre Dame defensive end commit became a constant presence in the opposing team's backfield.

Okwara recorded 14 tackles, seven tackles for a loss, two sacks, two forced fumbles and one blocked punt in his senior debut Friday night. Late in the 30-13 loss for Charlotte (N.C.) Ardrey Kell against Weddington, Okwara was ejected for a scuffle after the whistle.

Okwara said Saturday that a Weddington player pushed him after the whistle, and when Okwara pushed him back, he accidentally hit his facemask. The referees ruled Okwara threw a punch which resulted in the ejection. Okwara said his coach is challenging the ruling to get the penalty reduced.
