Notre Dame commit recap: QB Ian Book displays running ability

Notre Dame commits produced 11 touchdowns in their games over the last week.

ND Insider recaps how each Irish pledge in the 2016 and 2017 classes fared over the weekend.

QB Ian Book | El Dorado Hills (Calif.) Oak Ridge 38, Rocklin 22: Book led Oak Ridge (5-1) with his arm and his legs. He finished 15-of-20 passing for 221 yards and one touchdown. He also rushed for 112 yards and three touchdowns.

RB Tony Jones Jr. | Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy 24, St. Joseph Regional (N.J.) 12: Jones hit the 100-yard mark for the second straight game. He rushed for 109 yards and two touchdowns in the win. He scored on an 18-yard run and a 3-yard plunge for the Ascenders (5-0).

CB Julian Love | La Grange (Ill.) Nazareth Academy 33, Benet Academy 0: Love scored a pair of touchdowns in another Nazareth Academy victory. He started the scoring for the Roadrunners (5-1) with a 60-yard touchdown run. He finished the game with 10 carries for 99 yards and two touchdowns in addition to 80 receiving yards. He added five tackles and an interception on defense.

WR Chase Claypool | Abbotsford (B.C.) Secondary 35, Windsor 6: Claypool scored on a 75-yard kick return in the Abbotsford victory. He caught four passes for 87 yards on offense and totaled six tackles and one interception on defense for the Panthers (3-1).

DB Jalen Elliott | Chesterfield (Va.) L.C. Bird 36, Monacan 6: Elliott struggled throwing the ball at quarterback in sloppy weather, but he continued to lead a dominant defensive effort from the secondary. Elliott did not allow a completion as a defender while the opposing offense totaled negative 31 yards. Elliott completed four of his 12 passes for 57 yards and two touchdowns with three interceptions for the Skyhawks (6-0).

OL Tommy Kraemer | Cincinnati (Ohio) Elder 24, St. Xavier 17 (2OT): Kraemer helped pave the way for 290 yards from the Elder offense. The Panthers (5-1) won with an 8-yard touchdown pass in the second overtime session.

LB Jamir Jones | Rochester (N.Y.) Aquinas Institute 28, Bishop Timon-St. Jude 6: Jones tallied nine tackles and four tackles for a loss in the win. He also made a 13-yard reception for Aquinas (5-0).

OL Parker Boudreaux | Orlando (Fla.) Bishop Moore Catholic 34, South Lake 7: Boudreaux racked up seven pancake blocks in another Bishop Moore (5-0) victory.

WR Kevin Stepherson | Jacksonville (Fla.) First Coast 14, Fletcher 17: Stepherson hauled in three passes for 60 receiving yards in a loss for First Coast (1-4).

OL Josh Lugg | Wexford (Pa.) North Allegheny 41, Shaler Area 14: Lugg helped clear the way for 299 yards of offense for North Allegheny (4-1).

DE Julian Okwara | Charlotte (N.C.) Ardrey Kell 7, Olympic 12 (PPD): Okwara totaled nine tackles and one sack in a game that was postponed and resumed on Monday night. Ardrey Kell dropped to 3-3.

TE Brock Wright | Cypress (Texas) Cy-Fair 19, Cypress Ridge 10: Wright recorded one catch and helped block for an offense that tallied 123 rushing yards in a victory for Cy-Fair (4-1).

OL Liam Eichenberg | Cleveland St. Ignatius 55, Parma 0: St. Ignatius (4-2) opened up a 41-0 lead in the first half in Eichenberg’s return to the field after missing several games with an illness.

TE Cole Kmet | Arlington Heights (Ill.) St. Viator 7, Carmel 21: Kmet caught two catches for 20 yards in his first game as an Irish commit. St. Viator (1-5) has lost four straight games.

LS John Shannon | Wilmette (Ill.) Loyola Academy 31, Providence Catholic 7: Shannon’s return from a shoulder injury allowed him to resume long snapping for the first time last week for Loyola (6-0).

Bye week: Safety D.J. Morgan, offensive lineman Dillan Gibbons

Out for the season: Defensive end Adetokunbo Ogundeji (knee), safety Spencer Perry (shoulder)
