Notre Dame commit recap: Jamir Jones pairs TDs with sacks

Fifteen Notre Dame commits took the field last week. Here’s how they fared. Videos available on desktop version.

LB Jamir Jones | Rochester (N.Y.) Aquinas Institute 48, McQuaid Jesuit 7: Jones caught touchdown passes of 22 and 69 yards in a runaway win. He finished the game with three catches for 103 yards and recorded eight tackles, including three tackles for a loss and two sacks, on defense.

QB Ian Book | El Dorado Hills (Calif.) Oak Ridge 36, Granite Bay 28: Book completed 21 of his 29 passes for 206 yards and three touchdowns in another victory. He also rushed 14 times for 100 yards and one touchdown for Oak Ridge (6-1).

WR Kevin Stepherson | Jacksonville (Fla.) First Coast 15, Raines 26: Stepherson scored the only two touchdowns in a First Coast (1-5) loss. He caught four passes for 101 yards and one touchdown and returned a kickoff 76 yards for a touchdown.

OL Parker Boudreaux | Orlando (Fla.) Bishop Moore Catholic 34, South Sumter 14: Boudreax recorded eight pancake blocks as Bishop Moored (6-0) ended South Sumter’s regular season winning streak of 29 games.

CB Julian Love | La Grange (Ill.) Nazareth Academy 35, Joliet Catholic 38: Love and Nazareth Academy made a strong comeback effort after trailing 31-0, but the Roadrunners (5-2) fell just short. Love caught two passes for 100 yards including an 84-yard touchdown and rushed for 55 yards. He tallied 14 tackles on defense.

DE Julian Okwara | Charlotte (N.C.) Ardrey Kell 40, Harding 14: Okwara added another sack and nine tackles to his season total in a win for Ardrey Kell (4-3).

RB Tony Jones Jr. | Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy 42, Southern Lab (La.) 0: Jones scored a one-yard touchdown in a blowout victory. He rushed four times for 22 yards and caught two passed for 25 yards as IMG (6-0) opened up a 35-0 lead in the first half.

OL Josh Lugg | Wexford (Pa.) North Allegheny 41, Butler 7: Lugg helped clear the way for 368 rushing yards in a blowout win for North Allegheny (5-1).

S D.J. Morgan | Bellflower (Calif.) St. John Bosco 62, Santa Margarita 14: Morgan recorded four tackles and one tackle for a loss in another big win for St. John Bosco (6-0).

OL Dillan Gibbons | St. Petersburg (Fla.) Northside Christian 45, Carrollwood Day 6: Gibbons and the Northside Christian offense overpowered the previously unbeaten Carrollwood Day. The Mustangs (6-0) rolled to 354 yards of offense.

WR Chase Claypool | Abbotsford (B.C.) Secondary 24, Mission 21: Claypool scored on a seven-yard touchdown run in the Abbotsford (4-1) victory.

OL Tommy Kraemer | Cincinnati (Ohio) Elder 42, Archbishop Moeller 49: Kraemer and the Elder offense were outdueled in a shootout with Moeller. Elder (5-2) totaled 592 yards of offense, but it wasn’t enough.

TE Brock Wright | Cypress (Texas) Cy-Fair 21, Langham Creek 49: Wright caught two passes for 33 yards in a lopsided loss for Cy-Fair (4-2).

LS John Shannon | Wilmette (Ill.) Loyola Academy 42, DePaul College Prep 0: Shannon resumed playing linebacker in addition to long snapping after fully recovering from his shoulder injury. He tallied eight tackles.

TE Cole Kmet | Arlington Heights (Ill.) St. Viator 13, Marian Central Catholic 33: Kmet hauled in four passes for 55 yards in the loss for St. Viator (1-6). At defensive end, Kmet recorded 10 tackles and four tackles for a loss.

Bye week: OL Liam Eichenberg, S Jalen Elliott

Out for season: DE Adetokunbo Ogundeji (knee), S Spencer Perry (shoulder).
