Notre Dame hit the recruiting trail hard during bye week

Last week’s bye week only provided Notre Dame’s coaching staff a reprieve from football practice. While the players were able to go home for fall break, the Irish coaches hit the road to see recruits.

The NCAA recruiting calendar allows college football staffs to use 42 evaluation days from Aug. 1 to Nov. 28 to visit schools and observe recruits. Conversations between the players and coaches are prohibited on those visits, but it allows the college coaches to make their interest known and learn more about the recruits.

The travels for Notre Dame’s coaching staff last week included two countries — thanks to Canadian wide receiver commit Chase Claypool — and reportedly 15 different states, 28 major cities and 84 high schools. ND Insider was unable to track every destination for the Irish coaching staff but did confirm many of the major visits.

Here’s a closer look at where the Notre Dame coaches were last week.
