Notre Dame’s attempt to flip a Louisville safety commit continued on Saturday.

TreSean Smith, a 6-foot-2, 188-pound senior at Cincinnati LaSalle, joined the visitors list for Notre Dame’s final home game of the season. Smith confirmed his attendance with ND Insider in a text message. He stood on the sideline watching the Irish warm up before the game.

The Irish began their formal pursuit of Smith with a scholarship offer last month. Notre Dame has been in search of another safety to pair with Isaiah Robertson in the 2017 class.

247Sports slates Smith, who has been committed to Louisville since June, as a four-star recruit and the No. 23 safety. Rivals rates him as a three-star prospect.

Smith’s LaSalle team advanced to the state semifinal round after beating Miamisburg 45-14 on Friday night. Smith scored a touchdown on an eight-yard run.
