The final contact period before signing day opened up on Thursday and Notre Dame's coaches immediately hit the road. ND Insider takes a look at where the Irish coaching staff has been. we go!#Fightszn is under way. Coaches on the road. Two big recruiting weekends to plan out.

New special teams coordinator Brian Polian started the Twitter hype on Wednesday night. In his first day back on the recruiting trail for Notre Dame, Polian watched defensive end Jalen Harris play basketball.

Recruiting coordinator Mike Elston headed down to Oklahoma. He checked out defensive tackle Deontre Thomas, a 2017 Nebraska commit, and made an in-home visit with safety Evan Fields.

Head coach Brian Kelly joined the hashtag train by using both #FightSZN and #tictoc. More importantly, he spent his first day of the contact period with wide receiver commit Michael Young and running backs coach Autry Denson.

Defensive backs coach Todd Lyght made a trip to Arkansas to meet with recently offered cornerback Tre Norwood. Norwood dropped his commitment to Louisville shortly after meeting with Lyght.

New offensive coordinator Chip Long capped his first day recruiting for Notre Dame in Texas with wide receiver target Gavin Holmes. Long started the day in Iowa with wide receiver target Oliver Martin.

New defensive coordinator Mike Elko met with linebacker commit David Adams. They were joined by linebackers coach Clark Lea on the same day he was announced as the newest addition to the staff.

Offensive line coach Harry Hiestand spent his time in Pennsylvania with visits to see offensive line commit Josh Lugg and 2018 quarterback commit Phil Jurkovec.
