Offer Report: 2018 DB Shayne Simon

Another recruit from St. Peter’s Prep in New Jersey reported a Notre Dame offer Thursday. ND Insider takes a closer look at 2018 defensive back Shayne Simon.

• DB SHAYNE SIMON, 6-3, 200; JERSEY CITY (N.J.) ST. PETER’S PREP.

Junior stats: 55 tackles, 13 pass breakups, eight tackles for a loss, four interceptions, three sacks and one fumble recovery.

Rivals ranking: Three stars, No. 18 outside linebacker.

247Sports ranking: Three stars, No. 44 safety.

Notable offers: Ohio State, Michigan, Penn State, UCLA and Wisconsin.

Notre Dame connection: Simon teams with Justin and Jayson Ademilola, a pair of 2018 defensive linemen committed to Notre Dame, at St. Peter’s Prep, the same high school Irish quarterback Brandon Wimbush attended.
