Moment I knew I wanted to be Irish: “It was Jan. 14, 2016. It was the day I got onto campus and got to meet the coaches. I had been to Notre Dame before, but this was the first I really got to see what’s underneath the hood and what they’re about.”

The one thing I won’t miss about the recruiting process: “Not knowing anything. Not knowing what’s about to happen — if you’re about to get calls from coaches. If you’re about to get an offer. Who’s really looking at you? Who really isn’t? Just being unable to control the situation.”

Should football have an early signing period? “No. I think as high schoolers, we need the most time that we can have to really think about our decision. As you see, a lot of kids don’t really know what they want. They need a lot of time.”
