Notre Dame’s rekindled interest in recruiting Hawaii surfaced again Saturday when a 2019 linebacker reported an Irish offer. ND Insider takes a closer look at Maninoa Tufono.

Sophomore stats: 65 tackles, 12 tackles for a loss and one forced fumble.

247Sports ranking: Four stars, No. 2 inside linebacker.

Rivals ranking: N/A.

Notable offers: USC, Washington, Oregon, UCLA and Utah.

Notre Dame connection: Tufono attends the same school that produced linebacker Manti Te’o and wide receiver Robby Toma to Notre Dame. Irish safety Alohi Gilman’s father, Asai, coaches at Punahou.
