BEAVERTON, Ore. -- The very best of the best. Those are the recruits The Opening tries to identify with its Final 5.

After a year of watching offensive and defensive linemen on film, at regional camps and the past few days at The Opening Finals, the camp organizers named the top players at each position to square off in one final showdown.

Notre Dame defensive tackle Jayson Ademilola commit received the honor Monday. His prize? Three shots in pass rush against Jamaree Salyer, the No. 1 guard recruit in the country.

Ademilola, a four-star recruit himself, fared well against Salyer. On the first rep, he was able to stand up Salyer and fight through him to the inside. Ademilola tried to go to the outside on the second rep and Salyer took him to the ground. The final rep was the closest rep of the three with Salyer holding strong at the start, Ademilola giving a push to the outside and an eventual stalemate in Salyer's favor.

It was a fitting end to Ademilola's camp where he showed flashes as an explosive pass rusher. The 6-foot-3, 290-pound Ademilola doesn't stand out physically in a lineup of the top defensive linemen in the country, but his strength, quickness and powerful hands make him a valuable asset for the Irish.

The Final 5 actually included six offensive linemen and defensive linemen. The offensive line included tackles Jackson Carman, Brey Walker (Oklahoma) and Will Craig, guards Curtis Dunlap Jr. and Salyer, and center Justin Dedich (USC). The defensive line included ends Tyreke Smith, Brenton Cox (Ohio State) and Xavier Thomas (Clemson), and tackles Nesta Silvera (Miami), Taron Vincent (Ohio State) and Ademilola.

Carman and Smith were not allowed to wear pads because of Ohio high school rules.
