The biggest and most talented recruit expected to visit Notre Dame this weekend will no longer be making the trip to South Bend.

Five-star offensive lineman Jamaree Salyer announced the change in plans Friday night on Twitter.

"Due to family issues I have officially cancelled my official visit to Notre Dame," Salyer wrote.

Salyer had been planning his return trip to Notre Dame since July. The 6-foot-4, 327-pound product of Atlanta's Pace Academy has already visited the Irish three times.

The cancelled visit shouldn't be the end of the road for Notre Dame in Salyer's recruitment. He hasn't expressed any plans to make a commitment decision anytime soon. Now the Irish will have to work to get another official visit scheduled with Salyer.

Georgia, Clemson, Stanford and Alabama are among the other schools hoping to host Salyer on an official visit this season. Two of Salyer's former Pace Academy teammates, offensive tackle Andrew Thomas and wide receiver Trey Blount, play for the Bulldogs.

Pace Academy's game Friday night was cancelled due to travel issues related to evacuations for Hurricane Irma.

Both Rivals and 247Sports peg Salyer as the top offensive guard in the 2018 class.
