Two Notre Dame commits rise in new Top 247 for 2019 class

247Sports released a revamped Top 247 for the 2019 class on Thursday. It brought good news for two of Notre Dame's three commits in the class.

Defensive tackle Jacob Lacey remained the top Irish commit at No. 103 overall as the No. 7 defensive tackle. He moved up 25 spots from his previous ranking.

Quarterback Cade McNamara received a bump of 193 spots to No. 171 overall as the No. 6 pro-style quarterback.

Both Lacey and McNamara are rated as four-star recruits. Previously, McNamara was give a three-star grade by 247Sports.

Notre Dame's third commit, cornerback K.J. Wallace, is slated as a four-star recruit, the No. 21 cornerback and No. 303 overall.

The three Irish commits have given Notre Dame the No. 14 class in the country for 2019.

Notre Dame hosted 11 recruits last weekend for its junior day that are included on the current Top 247: wide receiver Joe Ngata (No. 48), tight end Hunter Henry (No. 52), defensive end NaNa Osafo-Mensah (No. 94), Lacey (No. 103), running back Sampson James (No. 127), wide receiver Kam Brown (No. 131), defensive end Joseph Anderson (No. 143), safety Ronnie Hickman (No. 150), wide receiver Jake Smith (No. 165), defensive tackle Mazi Smith (No. 209), and wide receiver TJ Sheffield (No. 38 WR).
