Moment I knew I wanted to be Irish: “I was sitting with one of my assistant coaches in high school, that I’d known since I was 7 years old in Pop Warner. He’d been giving me advice on how to pick a school. I wound up calling (linebackers) coach (Clark) Lea. It was 10 o’clock our time, 1 a.m. his time, and he still picked up the phone. I told him I wanted to commit to the Irish.”

One word to describe Brian Kelly: Passionate.

The one thing I won’t miss about the recruiting process: “The stress. There were so many schools that wanted me to go to it, and it’s tough to say no to a lot of people, because there are so many great schools.”
