Four-star CB Noah Boykin gives late surprise to Notre Dame
Notre Dame doubled up on eleventh hour additions at cornerback on National Signing Day
After three-star cornerback DJ Brown signed with the Irish on Wednesday morning, four-star cornerback Noah Boykin announced his intentions to do the same.
The Irish appeared to fall behind in Boykin’s recruitment in January when he dropped his commitment to Maryland immediately following an official visit to Florida. Yet Notre Dame still ended up pulling ahead in the final hours for Boykin.
The 6-foot-2, 168-pound product of Washington (D.C) H.D. Woodson last visited Notre Dame in October for the USC game. Boykin had offers from Clemson, Florida, USC, Georgia, Oklahoma and others.
Rivals ranks Boykin as the No. 21 cornerback in the 2018 class. 247Sports slates him No. 25 at the position.
With Boykin, the Irish will sign five players who could play cornerback in the 2018 class — Boykin, Brown, Tariq Bracy, Houston Griffith and Joe Wilkins Jr. — and after striking out at the position in the 2017 class.
