K HARRISON LEONARD, 5-11, 215; AVON (CONN.) OLD FARMS

Kohl’s Kicking Camps ranking: Five stars, No. 8 K.

247Sports ranking: Two stars, No. 30 K, No. 3,845 overall.

Rivals ranking: N/A.

Notable numbers: 6-of-9 on field goals with a long of 42 yards.

Birthday: Sept. 23, 2000.

First scholarship offer: Sacred Heart (for football and baseball). “After I committed to Notre Dame, Baylor tried. But I shut it down.”

Moment I knew I wanted to be Irish: “I always dreamed of it when I was younger. I went to a game — I don’t know how old I was — against Temple. I just loved it. My mom’s side is from out there.”

One word to describe Brian Kelly: Funny. “I like his sense of humor. We are both from New England, Boston. We both understand that type of humor. He has a humor that I really appreciate. In Boston, we have a very sarcastic type of humor.”

The one thing I won’t miss about the recruiting process: “Not knowing what’s going to happen. Not stressing and not having to deal with what’s going to happen and being scared about what the future will hold.”

Best player I’ve played against: Michigan wide receiver Tarik Black. “I tackled him. Proud of that one. I was a freshman, and he was a junior. I gave him a little bear hug and fell down with him. It was a kickoff. My eyes kind of lit up. I kind of just saw him run right at me. I think he thought I was going to move, and I just didn’t. I wasn’t too terrified, because he was just a dude.”

The last thing you watched on Netflix: All American.

Most embarrassing song on my playlist: “The Climb” — Miley Cyrus.

Dream job (other than the NFL): “Something in finance or in the business world.”

NFL comparison: Saints K Will Lutz. “Whenever I kicked with him, he had a similar body type and pretty similar mentality with kicking. He just seemed like the same as me.”

Expectations for my freshman season: “I don’t have any expectations going in, just because nothing is given to me. I don’t want to expect anything. I just want to go in there, try my best and whatever I deserve is what I earn.

Favorite football accomplishment: Being named to the All-New England Preparatory School Athletic Council (NEPSAC) Class A team.

Under Armour, Nike or Adidas: Nike.

What was the first position you played in football? Kicker.

What’s your best sport other than football? Baseball. “But I really like squash.”
