Moment I knew I wanted to be Irish: “Right after my first visit (in December of 2018). I got on campus and it really hit all my checkpoints. I was then just comparing all these schools to Notre Dame.”
One word to describe Brian Kelly: Awesome. “He’s an all-around great person. He cares about you football-wise and as a person, which is great. He will check up on your family. He cares about you more than just what you can provide on a football field.”
Best player I’ve played against: Uncommitted DE J.T. Tuimoloau.
Most interesting fact about myself: Likes fishing and was a top basketball recruit before switching his focus to football.
Most embarrassing song on my playlist: “Bet on It” — Zac Efron (High School Musical 2).
Most controversial opinion: “If you are playing a team that’s significantly worse than you, I don’t believe in taking it easier. I agree with getting your subs in and trying to get them better. But I do not believe in taking it easy. If I can score 100 points in a football game against a crappy team, I will. I don’t care about how their feelings are affected. I do not care how they feel after the game. They shouldn’t be playing with us if they can’t handle it.”
Dream job (other than the NFL): Something business-related in sports.
NFL player comparison: San Francisco 49ers OL Joe Staley.
Freshman year expectations: “I’m not trying to make a name for myself. I’m going to try and obviously give 120 percent all the time. All my effort as possible. I’m going to try to compete. I think that’s the biggest thing — compete, show my talents, work hard and just try to prove myself. And also serve the team. I think that’s a big thing. I’m just a piece to the puzzle. You have a lot of stuff to do to make those big dreams happen. I’ll do the best I can or what I can to the best of my ability to make sure that puzzle fits right.”
Favorite thing about football: “It’s a team sport. With playing football and basketball, I see the different mindsets toward those sports. Football, you do your job to help the team. With basketball, it’s I do my job to win the game. So basketball is a little more selfish. Football is a little more selfless.”
Under Armour, Nike or Adidas: Under Armour.
What’s your best sport other than football? Basketball.
Sports idol: Los Angeles Lakers SF LeBron James.
Preferred social media: Twitter.
Favorite musician/band: NLE Choppa.
Favorite TV show: “The Office.”
Favorite movie: “Step Brothers.”
Celebrity crush: Ariana Grande.
How many times have you watched Rudy? “I don’t think I can count. It’s such a great movie. Whenever I’m in the mood to watch it, I just watch it. So I really don’t know how many times.”
