Moment I knew I wanted to be Irish: “When I went on FaceTime with coach (Clark) Lea, the defensive coordinator, and he had this presentation about me, Notre Dame, their program, what they expect out of their players and mainly how they run their program and what they expect for the future. That really stuck with me.”

What I’ve learned from the COVID-19 pandemic: “You’ve got to enjoy the little things in life. The little things, at the end of the day, are going to make your life more enjoyable. You’ve just got to keep pushing through all the adversity with your head high.”

One word to describe Brian Kelly: “Great. He’s a great coach, a great person, a great leader for the team.”

Best player I’ve played against: Alabama wide receiver commit Agiye Hall (2021 class).

Most embarrassing song on my playlist: “I Have Nothing” — Whitney Houston.

Most controversial opinion: “Bigfoot is actually real. No lie. A lot of people from Washington (believe) Bigfoot is real. Because of all the trees that we have, so we don’t know what is living out there.”

Dream job (other than the NFL): Lawyer.

NFL player comparison: Philadelphia Eagles cornerback Darius Slay.

Freshman year expectations: “Be a leader on the team and contribute in any way I can. Of course, everybody wants to start their freshman year. I want to have an impact on the team on and off the field.”

Favorite thing about football: “The contact and the brotherhood. The contact, there’s no other sport where you get to hit people. I’m a defensive guy, so hitting people, making plays. And the brotherhood. There’s no other sport that brings in a bunch of strangers together and then move them into a family with one goal.”
