#FreemanEra: Support from ND football players and recruits pours out for Marcus Freeman

The search is officially on for the next Notre Dame football coach after Brian Kelly departed for LSU this week.

Notre Dame athletic director Jack Swarbrick said Tuesday that he's not in a hurry to appoint an interim head coach as the Irish await their College Football Playoff fate this Sunday.

Meanwhile, former, current and potential future Notre Dame players have taken to social media to advocate for their preference with the Twitter hashtag #FreemanEra.

That would be current Irish defensive coordinator Marcus Freeman considered as one of the top assistants in college football. He has not been a college head coach.
