Mississippi State leadoff hitter Rowdey Jordan hit a two-run home run over the center-field fence in the bottom of the sixth inning against Notre Dame on Saturday.

Jordan's homer took the glove of Notre Dame centerfielder Spencer Myers with it.

Myers ran back to the wall to try to catch Jordan's hit, and as Myers hit the wall, his glove went over the wall — as did Jordan's hit.

A Mississippi State fan handed Myers his glove back once Myers stood up following his collision with the wall.

Jordan's home run put Mississippi State ahead 8-7 in the sixth inning.

Mississippi State defeated Notre Dame 9-8. The teams play Game 2 on Sunday at 5 p.m. CT.

No. 7-seeded Mississippi State improved to 44-15 overall. The No. 10-seeded Notre Dame Fighting Irish went to 33-12 overall.

Entering Saturday, Notre Dame leads the all-time series 4-2 vs. Mississippi State. In the 2000 Starkville Regional, Notre Dame eliminated Mississippi State from the postseason.
