Notre Dame football: Te'o signs with Chargers

Former Notre Dame All-American Manti Te'o didn't waste any timesigning his first professional football contract.

According to Chargers.com, the second-round draft choice of the SanDiego Chargers signed with the team on Thursday, a day before thestart of the team's rookie minicamp. The linebacker from Laie, Hawaii,was the 38th pick overall at last month's NFL Draft.

Details of Te'o's contract were not disclosed, but USA Today reportedlast year's No. 38 selection, Jacksonville Jaguars defensive end AndreBranch, received a signing bonus of $2.14 million as part of hisfour-year, $5.1 million contract.
