Mistakes were kept to a minimum. Arctic weather never became a factor.

Notre Dame was simply better than BYU Saturday.

Cam McDaniel rushed for more than 100 yards, DaVaris Daniels collected more than 100 receiving yards, Kyle Brindza connected on three field goals — including a critical 51-yarder midway through the fourth quarter —and the Irish (8-3) played a solid football game in a 23-13 victory over the Cougars (7-4).

Senior Day at Notre Dame went off with barely a hiccup. Tommy Rees threw for more than 200 yards, including a 61-yard scoring pass to Daniels. BYU defensive backs had trouble keeping up with Irish receivers the entire game.

Rees' only misstep was an interception in the end zone early in the fourth quarter,

Defensively, Jarron Jones, who was filling in for injured nose guard Louis Nix, had seven tackles and blocked a field goal.

Cougars quarterback Taysom Hill and running back Paul Lasike both rushed for more than 100 yards.
