Notre Dame football: ND's Nix signs with agent

Notre Dame senior nose guard Louis Nix has yet to make a public statement, but the Irish football standout let his actions do the talking on Friday.

Sports Business Journal's Liz Mullen reported Nix signed with Five-Star Athlete Management's Todd France and Bryan Ayrault, which would end his amateur standing. Nix has long been expected to turn down his fifth-year option with the Irish to enter the 2014 NFL Draft.

The projected first-rounder and all other college underclassmen have until Jan. 15 to declare for early entry into the draft. Nix was already ruled out of ND's bowl game with a knee injury.
