Notre Dame football: Cooks named interim defensive coordinator for Pinstripe Bowl

University of Notre Dame football coach Brian Kelly announced Thursday that co-defensive coordinator/cornerbacks coach Kerry Cooks will serve as the Irish defensive coordinator during preparation for ND’s New Era Pinstripe Bowl matchup vs. Rutgers, Dec. 28 in New York.

Cooks takes over an interim basis for Bob Diaco, who was introduced as the University of Connecticut’s head football coach on Thursday afternoon.
