Quarterback Everett Golson, who had been suspended from Notre Dame since late May, has been re-admitted into the university, Notre Dame announced Friday.

The 6-foot, 185-pound junior left Notre Dame following an academic misconduct violation in the spring. Golson later clarified in an interview with Sports Illustrated that he cheated on a test.

Golson returns less than a year after leading Notre Dame to the national championship game in January. Last season, he threw for 2,405 yards, completing 58.8 percent of his passes with 12 touchdowns and six interceptions in his first season as a starter. He also rushed for 298 yards and six TDs.

Golson will not be taking part in bowl practice with the team or play for the Irish in the Pinstripe Bowl on Dec. 28.

Reinstated Notre Dame quarterback Everett Golson will rejoin the team, as a spectator, during it's bowl trip to New York later this month.
