Several members of the Notre Dame football staff appear headed to Miami (Ohio) to join former Irish offensive coordinator Chuck Martin’s new staff.
- FootballScoop.com reported that graduate assistant Corey Brown, who worked with the defensive line, will coach the defensive line at Miami. Earlier this month, GA Pat Welsh joined Martin’s staff as the tight ends coach.
- CoachingSearch.com reported that Autry Denson, ND’s all-time leading rusher, will coach running backs for Miami. Denson spent the last three seasons as an assistant at Bethune-Cookman.
- FootballScoop also reported that Notre Dame director of player development Ernest Jones is leaving ND to coach running backs at Connecticut. Former Irish defensive coordinator Bob Diaco earlier this month was named the head coach at UConn.
- Former Irish running back Cierre Wood was recently cut from the New England Patriots practice squad. Wood, who was signed by the Patriots on Nov. 5, was originally signed by the Houston Texans but was cut in October.
