Surgeries sideline Lombard, Mahone for remainder of Notre Dame spring football

Notre Dame football coach Brian Kelly announced Friday that senior offensive lineman Christian Lombard and junior wide receiver Will Mahone will miss the remainder of spring practice.

Lombard, who missed the second half of last season because of back surgery, had successful surgery on Thursday to repair a dislocated right wrist.

Mahone suffered a fracture to his right foot and had successful surgery on March 6.
