Two Irish sign contracts

Two former Notre Dame players signed with NFL teams Thursday.

Tight end Troy Niklas, drafted last weekend in the second round, was signed by the Arizona Cardinals.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Quarterback Tommy Rees, who went undrafted, joined the Washington Redskins as a free agent.
