Notre Dame holding cash-and-carry sale for remaining stadium sod sections
SOUTH BEND -- With the online sale of sod from Notre Dame Stadium coming to a close, the university is moving to a cash-and-carry sale at the stadium this afternoon.
According to a report from our news partner, WSBT-TV, the athletics department will make excess inventory of 5-foot-by-2-foot sections of the stadium's natural grass surface available on a first-come, first-served basis from 3 to 7 p.m. today or until supplies run out.
The sod was priced at $149.95 for the online sale but will be priced at $100 for the cash-and-carry effort. As of 3 p.m. Tuesday, fewer than 600 sections of sod remain.
The sale will take place at Gate B (southeast corner).
According to the station report, customers must transport the sod at the time of purchase. Those interested should enter Moose Krause Circle south of the stadium from Leahy Drive.
