Notre Dame football coach Brian Kelly told reporters Wednesday that fifth-year senior safety Austin Collinsworth has a slight labrum tear in his shoulder but will not need surgery. Collinsworth was injured in last Saturday's victory over North Carolina and underwent an MRI Tuesday afternoon.

Kelly said that Collinsworth is expected to miss 4-6 weeks. Collinsworth missed the first four games with a knee injury and played sparingly in the Week 5 win over Stanford before starting against North Carolina.
