Notre Dame road game at Virginia gets afternoon kickoff time
The potential for a school-record number of night games in 2015 was partially doused Friday, when the Atlantic Coast Conference announced the kickoff time for Notre Dame’s Sept. 12 football matchup at Virginia.
ABC-TV will nationally televise the game that will kick off at 3:30 p.m.
The Irish could still play a school-record nine times in prime time, but would have to make the playoffs and reach the national championship game to do so, as well as have every one of their remaining TBA games to be under the lights.
Two Irish home games — the Sept. 5 opener against Texas and Oct. 17 against USC — will be in prime time (7:30 p.m.) as will ND’s Shamrock Series offsite home game against Boston College at Fenway Park in Boston.
