Notre Dame picked 11th in Preseason Amway Coaches Poll

Notre Dame was ranked 11th in the Preseason Amway Coaches Poll, which was released on Thursday.

The Irish received 883 points in the poll, which will be updated weekly throughout the regular season by a panel of head coaches at FBS schools. Notre Dame coach Brian Kelly is one of the voters.

Four of Notre Dame's 2015 opponents also appeared in the top 25: USC (10), Clemson (12), Georgia Tech (17) and Stanford (21). Ohio State, the reigning national champion, was the clear No. 1 team, receiving 62 first place votes.

Notre Dame, which finished 8-5 in 2014, opens its season by hosting Texas on Sept. 5.
