Notre Dame lands at No. 9 in AP Poll

After dismantling Texas, Notre Dame landed at No. 9 in the AP Poll, which was released on Tuesday afternoon. Ohio State remained as the unanimous No. 1 team. The Irish also remained at No. 11 in the Amway Coaches Poll.

Notre Dame received 1,061 total points in the AP Poll, 13 fewer than No. 8 USC and 20 fewer than No. 7 Oregon.

Brian Kelly's team certainly impressed in its season opener on Saturday night, allowing just 163 total yards in a 38-3 victory over Texas inside Notre Dame Stadium. Junior quarterback Malik Zaire dazzled in his first home start, completing 19 of 22 passes for 313 yards and three touchdowns.

Notre Dame plays its first road game on Saturday afternoon, when the Irish travel to meet Virginia at 3:30 p.m.
