A weekend visit to Purdue resulted in a commitment from former Notre Dame wide receiver Corey Holmes.

The 6-1, 190-pound junior from Pembroke Pines, Fla., originally announced his plans to transfer in December. He confirmed his commitment to the Boilermakers in a text message with ND Insider on Sunday.

Holmes previously told ND Insider he intends to graduate from Notre Dame in August before transferring which would make him immediately eligible when enrolling at Purdue. Holmes did not see the field as a sophomore in 2015 leaving him with two remaining seasons of eligibility.

Last season, Holmes caught 11 passes for 96 yards and played in all 12 games. Holmes only played in two other games during his Irish career: against Rice and Michigan as a freshman.
