Notre Dame impressed, and the nation took notice.

After soundly defeating Temple 49-16 in their season opener at Notre Dame Stadium last weekend, the Irish were ranked No. 24 nationally in the Associated Press' updated top 25 poll, which was released on Tuesday. They earned a No. 25 ranking in the Amway Coaches Poll

Notre Dame entered the season unranked in both polls. Georgia — which travels to play at Notre Dame at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday — held steady at No. 15 in both the Associated Press and Amway Coaches polls.

Three other 2017 Irish opponents were also ranked by the AP: USC (No. 6), Stanford (No. 14) and Miami (No. 16).
