As good as gold? Irish fans embrace special Notre Dame football Cotton Bowl uniforms
SOUTH BEND — Dressing for success?
Under Armour on Friday splashed the Notre Dame football team’s special Cotton Bowl uniforms all over social media, with a mostly enthusiastic response from the Irish fan base.
No. 3 Notre Dame (12-0) faces No. 2 Clemson (13-0) Dec. 29 in a Cotton Bowl/College Football Playoff semifinal game at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. For the third time in four games they’ll be wearing an alternate uniform.
"This a special moment in our partnership,” said Nick Billiris, senior design director of team sports at Under Armour. “Notre Dame aiming to close out an undefeated season with a national championship, and Under Armour having our first team in the College Football Playoffs.
“We wanted to keep the uniform traditional and true to Notre Dame, but dial it up to pay homage to the school's history with gold, and mark this incredible accomplishment"

Per the Under Armour press release, “the ‘Rush 4 Gold’ mantra is inspired by the ubiquity of gold across the University of Notre Dame campus, with nothing more representative than the Golden Dome – the heartbeat of the campus.”
The gold will run prominently throughout Notre Dame’s playoff uniform, including the trimming around the numbers,, the Notre Dame monogram on the shoulder and the Cotton Bowl patch on the chest. The phrases “Rush 4 Gold” and “God, Country, Notre Dame” are embroidered in gold into the jersey.
The team will be wearing Kelly green cleats and gloves.
I actually like the away jerseys all white, its clean. But the pants and the helmets should match or be close to matching. Think 1988.

Only crotchety ND fans will complain about a white jersey

Clean and classy. Green is a nice touch given the push for that color this year.

Amazing! Wish they were blue! Love the gold trim! The blue would pop more

I like the shiny gold trim, with green shoes/gloves. Overall, subtle but still traditional.

New uniforms were good luck vs Syracuse....so why not? Btw, I'm going to Dallas for the game.

As long as they beat Clemson I don’t care what they wear.
