Notre Dame’s 2020 football season opener in Dublin, Ireland, will be a night game — sort of.

When the Irish meet Navy at Aviva Stadium Aug. 29, it will be 7 p.m. (GMT) at kickoff. But that’ll be 2 p.m. back in South Bend and the rest of the Eastern Time Zone. ESPN has the telecast.

The last time the two teams played in Dublin — in the 2012 season opener — the game kicked off at 2 p.m. GMT, which was 9 a.m. Eastern Time.

Both teams are coming off 11-win seasons. The last time the two teams played, the Irish beat Navy, 52-20, Nov. 16 at Notre Dame Stadium.

The teams of Navy head coach Ken Niumatalolo (left) and Notre Dame head coach Brian Kelly will next square off Aug. 29 in Dublin, Ireland in a night game (GMT) to be televised on ESPN.
