Four former Notre Dame men’s basketball players representing four teams opened play Sunday in the NBA’s annual Orlando Summer League.

Playing as an undrafted free agent with the Houston Rockets, power forward Jack Cooley scored eight points with six rebounds, two blocked shots and two steals in 14 minutes. Houston beat Philadelphia, 88-80.

Swingman Tim Abromaitis, who played professionally in France last season, scored six points with one rebound and one assist in 14 minutes for the Boston Celtics, who lost 95-88 to Orlando.

Guard Ben Hansbrough, who spent his rookie season with the Indiana Pacers, was back with the Pacers’ summer league squad for a second-straight July. He scored three points with one rebound and one assist in 11 minutes as Indiana lost to Oklahoma City, 76-68.

Former power forward Carleton Scott, who played last season in the NBA Development League with the Springfield (Mass.) Armor, had three points, two rebounds and a block in 12 minutes for the Brooklyn Nets, who lost 76-67 to Detroit.

Scott was the final cut of the Nets last October in preseason.
