College basketball: Sheehey leads East
Former Indiana swingman Tom Sheehey started and scored 13 points on 5-of-6 shooting with three assists in 21 minutes to help the East squad to an 87-75 victory over the West on Friday at the Reese’s College All-Star Game in Arlington, Texas.
Former Notre Dame power forward Garrick Sherman started at center for the West, coached by Stanford’s Johnny Dawkins, and scored six points on 2-of-7 from the floor with seven rebounds in 18 minutes.
Towson’s Jerrelle Benimon and Dwayne Evans from St. Louis led the East, coached by Maryland’s Mark Turgeon, with 15 points. Weber State’s Davion Berry had 15 for the West.
