Who's on Notre Dame hoops recruiting short list?
Following are 12 current high school juniors on the recruiting short list for the Notre Dame men’s basketball program. Players are listed alphabetically with position, height, weight and hometown with high school in parenthesis.
Also included are recruiting rankings (number of stars) by the three national sites — ESPN.com, Rivals.com and Scout.com — as well as a few of the other schools on each prospect’s wish list that have offered scholarships.
Notre Dame has three scholarships to offer the recruiting class of 2017.
• Brian Bowen, SF, 6-7, 175 Saginaw, Mich. (LaLumiere School, LaPorte, Ind.)

Note: Bowen transferred to LaLumiere after two years at Arthur Hill High School in Saginaw, the same hometown as former Irish point guard Tory Jackson.

Note: Claxton’s father, Charles, played collegiately at Georgia and was a second-round NBA draft pick who appeared in three career games with the Boston Celtics during the 1995-96 seasons.

Note: Jackson’s father, also named Jaren, played collegiately at Georgetown and spent 13 seasons in the NBA.

Note: Kent is considered a future stretch-4 type of versatile talent who can play inside and step outside.

Note: Considered a top 15 national prospect who is reportedly one of the must-get guys for Indiana, Wilkes first started hearing from Notre Dame last month when he was offered a scholarship.
