Who's on Notre Dame men's basketball recruiting wish list?

Following are 16 current high school juniors on the recruiting wish list for the Notre Dame men’s basketball program. Players are listed alphabetically with position, height, weight and hometown with high school in parenthesis.

Also included are recruiting rankings (number of stars) by the three national sites — ESPN.com, Rivals.com and Scout.com — as well as a few of the other schools on each prospect’s wish list.

Notre Dame has seven scholarships to offer the Class of 2018. Also included are two on the Irish wish list for the 2019 class (current high school sophomores).

Class of 2018

• Riley Battin, 6-8, 240, C, Oak Park, Calif. (Oak Park)

Star power: ESPN (4); Rivals (3); Scout (3).

Also: Battin lists offers from American, Cal Poly, Portland and San Francisco. He’s also being recruited by Davidson and Gonzaga.

Note: The Southern California player of the year as a sophomore after averaging 24.3 points and 14.1 rebounds a game, Battin made an unofficial visit to Notre Dame last fall.

• Jalen Carey, 6-4, 170, SG, Montclair, N.J. (Immaculate Conception)

Star power: ESPN (4); Rivals (4); Scout (4).

Also: Connecticut, DePaul, Kansas, Rutgers, Seton Hall and Villanova.

Note: Carey is coached in high school by Jimmy Salmon, former coach of the New Jersey Playaz AAU team, whose alums include former Notre Dame guard and current assistant coach Ryan Ayers.

• Robby Carmody, 6-4, 175, SG, Mars, Pa. (Mars)

Star power: ESPN (4); Rivals (4); Scout (4).

Also: Carmody has as many as 13 schools on his wish list including Butler, Cincinnati, Duquesne, Louisville, Michigan, Northwestern, Pittsburgh, Purdue and Stanford.

Note: Carmody’s father, who is also his high school head coach, writes an occasional diary for the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. He’s indicated that his son would like to make a college choice prior to the start of his senior season.

• Darius Garland, 6-0, 150, PG, Nashville, Tenn. (Brentwood Academy)

Star power: ESPN (5); Rivals (5); Scout (5).

Also: A consensus Top 15 recruit, Garland lists as many as 25 schools on his wish list including Arizona State, Auburn, Baylor, Florida, Indiana and Texas Southern.

Note: Garland is being recruited by Irish assistant coach Ryan Humphrey. His father, Winston, is a former NBA player who coached at the high school level at Gary (Ind.) Westside until 2012.

• Tim Finke, 6-7, 215. SF, Champaign, Ill. (Central)

Star power: ESPN (4); Rivals (4); Scout (4).

Also: Boston College, Butler, Creighton, DePaul, Illinois-Chicago, Illinois and Oregon.

Note: Finke, whose older brother Michael plays for Illinois, made an unofficial visit to Notre Dame last summer.

• Joey Hauser, 6-8, 210, PF, Stevens Point, Wisc. (Senior)

Star power: ESPN (4); Rivals (4); Scout (5).

Also: Hauser lists eight schools who have already offered including Bradley, Iowa, Iowa State, Marquette and Northwestern.

Note: His older brother, Sam, is a freshman small forward at Marquette.

• Prentiss Hubb, 6-2, 155, PG, Washington (Gonzaga Prep)

Star power: ESPN (4); Rivals (4); Scout (4).

Also: Notre Dame is listed by Hubb as one of nine schools he has “medium” interest in that have offered along with Cincinnati, George Mason, Georgia Tech, Maryland, North Carolina State and Virginia.

Note: Hubb attended Stephen Curry and Chris Paul camps last summer. He’s likely near the top of the Irish wish list.

• Jerome Hunter, 6-7, 185, SF, Pickerington, Ohio (North)

Star power: ESPN (4); Rivals (4); Scout (4).

Also: Dayton, Michigan, Stony Brook, Toledo, Wright State and Xavier.

Note: Hunter has played organized basketball for only five years.

• Musa Jallow, 6-5, 200, SF, Bloomington, Ind. (North)

Star power: ESPN (-); Rivals (4); Scout (4).

Also: Lists offers from seven schools including Butler, Indiana, IUPUI, Purdue and Virginia.

Note: A high school teammate of former Indiana coach Tom Crean’s son, Riley, Jallow scored 24 points against Indiana Mr. basketball finalist and consensus Top 10 recruit Romeo Langford (New Albany) in March.

• Noah Kirkwood, 6-6, 210, SF, Kanata, Ontario (Ashbury College)

Star power: ESPN (-); Rivals (-); Scout (-).

Also: Lists interest in four schools, all of whom have offered: Notre Dame, Texas, Vanderbilt and Virginia.

Note: Kirkwood likely is near the top of the list for players the Irish coaching staff want to watch a little closer in April. Villanova offered a scholarship in December.

• Gerald Liddell, 6-7, 180, SF, Cibolo, Texas (Steele)

Star power: ESPN (4); Rivals (5); Scout (5).

Also: Lists offers from 19 schools including Arizona, Baylor, Florida State, Southern Methodist and Wichita State.

Note: Ranked as high as 15th nationally, Liddell is being recruited by Humphrey, who handles the state of Texas for Notre Dame.

• Luther Muhammad, 6-3, 175, SG, Irvington, N.J. (Hudson Catholic)

Star power: ESPN (-); Rivals (4); Scout (4).

Also: Lists interest in Notre Dame on Scout.com along with Rutgers, St. John’s, Seton Hall and Xavier.

Note: Notre Dame also has shown some recruiting interest in Muhammad’s high school teammate, point guard Jahvon Quinerly.

• Pete Nance, 6-8, 210, PF, Richfield, Ohio (Revere)

Star power: ESPN (-); Rivals (3); Scout (4).

Also: Holds offers from Charlotte, Florida, Stony Brook and Wright State.

Note: Nance is the son of former NBA standout Larry Nance and younger brother of Los Angeles Lakers power forward Larry Nance Jr., who played collegiately at Wyoming.

• Cormac Ryan, 6-5, 195, SG, Milton, Mass. (Milton Academy)

Star power: ESPN (-); Rivals (4); Scout (4).

Also: Boston College, Davidson, DePaul, George Mason, Penn, St. John’s.

Note: Ryan played AAU last summer for the Middlesex (Mass.) Magic, the same team of former Irish small forward Pat Connaughton. Ryan made an unofficial visit to Notre Dame last fall.

• Simi Shittu, 6-8, 220, PF, Saxtons River, Vt. (Vermont Academy)

Star power: ESPN (5); Rivals (5); Scout (5).

Also: Alabama, Connecticut, Louisville, Marquette, Memphis, UCLA.

Note: A native of Burlington, Ontario, Shittu also played at Montverde (Fla.) Academy as a prep. He’s a consensus Top 10 prospect.

• Talen Horton-Tucker, 6-5, 200, SF, Chicago (Simeon)

Star power: ESPN (-); Rivals (3); Scout (3).

Also: Arizona State, DePaul, Illinois-Chicago Iowa State, Loyola (Ill.), Northwestern, Toledo.

Note: A member of the Mac Irvin Fire AAU program, Horton-Tucker made an unofficial visit to Notre Dame during the January home game against Duke.

 Class of 2019

• Matthew Hurt, 6-9, 200, PF, Rochester, Minn. (Marshall)

Star power: ESPN (5); Rivals (5); Scout (5).

Also: Notre Dame was one of the early schools to recruit Hurt, who now lists 18 that includes heavyweights Arizona, Duke, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisville, North Carolina and UCLA.

Note: Irish associate head coach Rod Balanis has been to Rochester several times to recruit Hurt. He was scheduled to visit again this weekend.

• Justin Moore, 6-3, 180, SG, Hyattsville, Md. (DeMatha Catholic)

Star power: ESPN (-); Rivals (4); Scout (4).

Also: Old Dominion, Virginia, Xavier.

Note: Irish coach Mike Brey extended a scholarship offer in the fall when he was through DeMatha to see D.J. Harvey, who will be a freshman at Notre Dame in the fall. Moore missed a part of his sophomore season after suffering a torn anterior cruciate ligament in January.
