NOTING: DePaul has been idle since a 72-70 overtime home victory over Penn State on Nov. 15 in the Gavitt Games. Max Strus scored 21 points and Devin Gage, who missed most of last season with an Achilles’ injury, added 14. The teams combined for six points in the five-minute overtime. … The Blue Demons are 3-0 for the first time since 2008-09. They also have wins over Bethune-Cookman and Morgan State. … DePaul returns two starters with nine newcomers after going 11-20, 4-14 and 10th place in the Big East last season. … The Blue Demons were picked this preseason to again finish 10th in the Big East. … Since joining the Big East in 2005, DePaul is 45-185 in league play. Its lone winning record was in 2006-07 when it finished 9-7. … The Blue Demons have been to two NCAA tournaments since 1992, the last in 2004. … Former LaLumiere School guard Jalen Coleman-Lands is eligible this season after sitting out last year as a transfer from Illinois. Coleman-Lands, who picked Illinois over Notre Dame, set an Illinois freshman record with 87 3-pointers in 2015-16. … Strus is a second team All-Big East preseason pick. … Notre Dame leads the all-time series 61-44. The Irish have won 10 in a row and 11 of 12. The Blue Demons’ last win was on Feb. 20, 2007. … Junior power forward John Mooney leads the Irish in scoring (14.0) and rebounding (9.0), both career bests. He’s had double doubles for points and rebounds in each of the last three games. Mooney had 16 points and 11 rebounds in Tuesday’s 67-56 victory over Duquesne. … Freshman guard Prentiss Hubb has averaged 12.5 points his last two games, both starts. … Notre Dame’s seven-game homestand to start the season concludes Tuesday against Illinois in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge.
