Notre Dame softball: Irish falls to DePaul

Trailing by a run in the sixth inning, DePaul scored four to take down Notre Dame, 5-2, in the series finale.

Despite the loss, the Irish (37-11, 17-2 Big East) won its seventh league series of the season.

Laura Winter (23-9) suffered the loss, giving up four earned runs on eight hits. She had six strikeouts and no walks.

Cassidy Whidden was the only ND player with two hits.
