Notre Dame softball: Winter, Koerner pace Irish
Notre Dame scored five runs in the final three innings, powered by two Laura Winter home runs, to cap a 6-1 victory at Western Michigan on Wednesday.
The Irish (39-11) improved to 13-1 in their last 14 games, and have won eight contests by four or more runs during the stretch.
Emilee Koerner and Winter paced the Notre Dame lineup with two hits apiece, while Winter logged three RBIs and Koerner drove in two more.
Koerner became the first player in program history to surpass 20 doubles in a single season, recording Nos. 20 and 21 on Tuesday.
