Notre Dame track and field: Irish women make a move

Alexa Aragon captured the 3000-meter steeplechase in a time of 10:11.07 to push the Notre Dame women into the lead after day two of the Big East Outdoor Championship Saturday in Piscataway, N.J.

The Irish have 43 points going into Sunday’s final round.

Carly Loeffel was a runner-up in the heptathlon (5411 points) and Emily Morris captured third place in the shot put (15.21m).

The Irish men were led by Ted Glasnow (third place in the decathlon) and Logan Renwick (third place in the long jump).

Notre Dame has 22 points and is in sixth place.
