Notre Dame men's tennis: Huskies clip Irish men
Washington's Marton Bots rallied from a 3-1 deficit in the final set to post a 7-6 (8), 2-6, 6-3 win over Notre Dame's Quentin Monaghan to give the Huskies a 4-3 win in first-round action at the NCAA Championship Friday in Columbus, Ohio.
Notre Dame (19-8) got singles wins from No. 1 Greg Andrews, No. 3 Blas Moros and No. 5 Wyatt McCoy but needed a Monaghan win after the Huskies opened the match by winning the doubles point.

Emmett Egger (W) beat Billy Pecor, 6-4, 6-1; 5. Wyatt McCoy (ND) beat Jeff Hawke, 6-3, 6-2; 6. Nicholas Kamisar (W) beat Alex Lawson, 6-4, 6-4.
DOUBLES: 1. Bots-McMorrow (W) beat Pecor-Alex Lawson, 8-3; 2. Egger-Hawke (W) beat Spencer Talmadge-McCoy, 8-4; 3. Andrews-Monaghan (ND) beat Viktor Farkas-Max Manthou, 8-3.
