Notre Dame was eliminated Saturday from the NCAA softball regional following a 3-1 loss to Marshall.

Marshall (36-21) scored the only runs it needed in the bottom of the second inning thanks to a Savanah Webster solo home run to right field before another run on a throwing error.

Pitcher Laura Winter made Notre Dame history in the bottom of the first inning, striking out Marshall’s Jazmine Valle swinging for her 300th strikeout of the season.
