Notre Dame baseball: Pitt next for Irish
Third baseman Ronald Sucre's RBI double with two out in the bottom of the 12th capped Pittsburgh's comeback from an early 5-1 deficit and gave the third-seeded Panthers a 7-6 win over No. 2 Seton Hall in an elimination game of the Big East Baseball Tournament, Friday at Clearwater, Fla.
The win puts Pitt (42-16) in the semifinal round against seventh-seeded Notre Dame (33-23), Saturday at 10 a.m. The Panthers would need to beat the Irish twice Saturday to reach Sunday's final. The Irish only need to win one of the possible two games.
The Irish beat Pitt, 5-3, on Thursday to push the Panthers into the losers' bracket.
